Our mission is to provide everyone who is struggling with mental health and substance use disorders with the quality and efficient care that they deserve. Each staff member at Advene understands the necessary factors involved in the recovery process. We want everyone to have the best opportunity for recovery. We are here to help educate our patients and provide the necessary information, guidance, and medical resources they need without stigmas or judgement.
Dr. Seitz started his career working with children and families over 40 years ago in a treatment of family practice. He transitioned to North Carolina in 2008 and incorporated addiction and mental health treatment into his practice and became board certified in addiction.
Dr. Howard began his career working in the ER System as a hospitalist and transitioned into addiction, medicine, and mental medication management.
Laura began her career in children and family counseling in 1992 while residing in Florida. In 2008 she transitioned to North Carolina and added substance use treatment to her professional background. She is board certified in addiction therapy as well.
Tom is a certified addiction counselor with over 39 years of experience in his field. Prior to working in this field, he struggled with addiction himself, starting at the age of 13 until he was 32. After battling his addiction for years, he found help in an Alcoholic Anonymous group. After staying clean for 7 months, he started his career journey to educate and help people who are struggling with addiction, just like he had. Tom has been the Life Coach and Addiction Counselor for the last 10 years at Advene Health.
